“The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.” Alfred Austin
I am a gardener’s daughter who inherited a love for plants and wildlife.
We grew vegetables, collected seeds, took cuttings, watched birds and butterflies, cut back overgrown gardens, had bonfires, composted and planted trees.
When we weren’t in the garden I was copying the pictures in the Observer books of Wild Flowers and Butterflies. With fingers in the soil and nose in the flowers it was inevitable I’d work with plants; a passion later supported by formal qualifications in Ecology and Woodland Management, a diploma in Garden Design and an MA in Landscape Architecture.
I have been living and working in the gardens of Brighton and East Sussex for the last twenty years.
